Community Church of Greenwood provides free Biblical Counseling as a ministry to those seeking God's answers to the questions and problems in their lives.
The following are commonly asked questions about our counseling:
What hope is there for my problems and questions?
God's counsel is desperately needed in our complex world. There is tremendous hope in the fact that God has provided His Word, the Bible, to give answers for life's problems and questions. God says that He has provided everything necessary for a person to know Him and to live in a way that pleases Him. God promises to help and bless those who obey His instructions in the Bible. The person who seeks after and follows God's answers for life can have great hope, contentment and direction to handle all the pressures of life.
Who can come for counseling?
We offer counseling for individuals and couples who are members or regular attendees of CCG.
What kind of counseling is offered?
We offer counseling to help with any problems you may be facing - marriage, parenting, addictions, disorders, fear, anger, depression, grief, etc. Our counseling is based on Biblical truths which are completely sufficient to conquer any of life's problems. It is our goal, therefore, to skillfully and practically bring God's answers to bear upon the difficulties you are facing.
Who are the counselors?
The counselors at CCG are all qualified, experienced and trained in Biblical Counseling. Certification is through the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors and the International Association of Biblical Counselors.
How long will the counseling last?
Counseling sessions normally last one hour each week for approximately 8-15 weeks. The number of sessions may be shortened or lengthened depending upon one's progress.
When will I be counseled?
Counseling is available weeknights and some daytime hours according to your counselors schedule.
What will my counselor expect of me?
Your counselor will expect at least three things from you. First, that you will have a willingness to grow and change. Second, that you will attend each week's session and give more than 24 hours notice if you have to cancel your appointment. Third, that you will complete homework assignments between counseling sessions to implement and ensure lasting change.
