What is Career Connections?
Career Connections is a nonprofit networking and support organization that is designed to reach out to those in career transition to assist in their job search.

Career Connections' stated mission is to provide a Christian forum for motivation, education, networking and resources.

Its mission is broken down into four core values:

  • Be an encourager to keep people motivated
  • Teach job-seeking skills
  • Provide networking opportunities
  • Offer connections with a variety of resources

All of this is done while emphasizing the importance of living biblically-principled lives.

What it's not
Career Connections is not an employment agency. Rather, it is an organization that will help people stick to the task of seeking employment and build in them hope until they connect with the right job.

How does it work?
Career Connections meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 7:30-8:45 a.m.
Wear business or business casual attire.

Career Connections believes it is important for those in transition to get up early at least once per week, put on their business best and make it to a scheduled meeting on time.

Career Connections considers itself successful if it has "turnover," meaning people are securing jobs. We encourage you to continue your involvement - as a resource person - even after employment.

What are the meeting benefits/content?
Expect to receive:

  • Prayer
  • Motivation and encouragement
  • Instruction in job searching skills
  • Possible leads with prospective employers
  • A cup of coffee may be available too!

One skill that is practiced every week is the "30-second infomercial." Participants explain who they are and what they want to do in 30 seconds. This is an ideal way to sharpen interviewing skills and improve self-confidence.

What's in it for business leaders?

  • A ready source of candidates for many different positions.
  • Volunteers have enormous talents and expertise in a wide variety of fields.
  • Valuable when an immediate hiring need arises, in a crisis or when just needing advice.
