Welcome to Congregational Care

Congregational Care is a ministry that supports people and those close to them who are experiencing the familiar trials that characterize life in this world, such as when a loved one dies, a loved one becomes ill, a marriage dissolves, a job is downsized, and more.

Current Services:

Funeral Planning
Everything for a funeral can be arranged from music to sermon, at the church by a local funeral home. As a member, using the church will keep the cost down and enable the funeral home to allow a monetary adjustment to the total funeral expenses.

Insurance Assistance
Help is available to members with chronic or long-term illnesses who need assistance with expediting medical claims. This service is also offered to members who are having financial difficulty paying medical bills.

Career Connections
Most people at some time in their lives have been or will be unemployed. This referral service provides help for those seeking employment. Professionals with expertise in resumes, job searches, counseling, networking, etc. are available.

Grief Share Support
Every human being suffers significant losses such as the death of a loved one or divorce. Grief is a normal response to loss. All of us, at one time or another, will need to work through personal trauma or disappointment. These support groups are offered to persons, couples, and families who are working through difficult problems in their lives.

Service Link
An in-house referral service links Community Church of Greenwood members with those other members whose gifts, businesses, and skills can meet their particular needs.

Handymen
The ministry provides volunteer services for single mothers and widowed ladies who need assistance with minor repairs, in the home, yard, or on the car.

Deacon/Deaconesses
The ministry uses mature-in-the-faith men and women to serve the Lord as servants. Making visits to shut-ins and hospital patients, ushering and serving at funerals, and serving communion are just a few ways that they serve the Lord.
